ACTION NOW!

Governor turns his back to workers

Updated 2:45 p.m., September 24
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger turned his back on state employees Tuesday. After signing the state budget 85 days late, the governor extended his executive order freezing all new hires and laying off workers through the end of
the year.

To add insult to injury, the Department of Personnel Administration told our Master Table bargaining team Tuesday that state negotiators don’t
have any more authority to deal with economics now than they did two months ago....

What you can do to help:

Call or write the governor and tell him this is unacceptable! No more stalling! No more excuses! Demand that he finish the job - demand a fair contract that values the state's biggest resource - its employees!
